2BV on a Motion Mission

In Science, we have been investigating motion, the movement of an object. We've been learning about words such as force, friction, energy, motion, push and pull. We are getting really good at making observations and using these words in our descriptions. This week 2BV were on a Motion Mission, completing a variety of activities to explore and investigate the causes and effects of the motion that was created.

These were our missions. You might like to explore them more at home or create your own motion missions.

Did you create your own motion mission at home? What discoveries can you share?

Thanks to Christina DeCarbo for an excellent resource.

Fun with Fruit!

The last two Fridays we have been working on an artwork inspired by the humble fruit bowl. We have looked at lots of Monet's artworks - paintings of water lilies, sunflowers, gardens, ponds, oceans and of course arrangements of fruit. We look forward to sharing our artworks soon....

We've been enjoying reading about James and the Giant Peach, so we've been imagining what a giant peach would look like. Chloe brought in a giant strawberry for crunch and sip. What stories could you write about a giant strawberry?

We've also enjoyed our apples even more on a Friday as we get them cored and sliced.... makes eating apples a whole lot of fun!

2BV Achievements

Congratulations to our Friday award recipients. Alisha, Allegra & Joshua (week 3), Abbey & Ayotomiwa (week 4) and Matthew, Cohen & Travis (week 5).

Well done to those students who have been working so hard to achieve their personal goals and receive their Silver Award at Assembly. Stay tuned for a photo!!

Fascination with sounds!!

Today we had a few distractions! We were making a sensational list of words that had 'tion' in them. 2BV if you're up for a challenge.... What other words can you find! Make sure there's no confusion with words that end in 'sion'.
