Some snapshots of our day

Well done to this week's achievers, Allegra, Abbey & Joshua.

We love Reading with Someone, especially after borrowing new books from our Just Juniors Library.

We also got to help Chloe celebrate her birthday today. Happy Birthday Chloe!

Don't forget to check out the new Learning Links page - 2BV loved playing Mission H2O. You can play it too at home. See how water wise you can be around the house this weekend.

What ways could you try to save or recycle water at home?

2BV Science Superstars!

Well done Georgia, Carter & Joshua for your great work in Science.

Exploring the Life of Noah

This term, 2BV have been busy preparing for their assembly item that they performed this week. We had so much fun planning and rehearsing our play about the story of Noah. If you missed seeing it, we will be performing it again at Grandparent's Day (20th June). We would like to make special thanks to all the mums and dads for helping out with our costumes. They looked amazing! We'd also like to thank Rob and Peter, our amazing maintenance workers for helping us make the ark!

We've also viewed a variety of texts retelling the story of Noah and asking lots of questions about what it would have been like for Noah and his family. In our writing, we were focusing on remembering to use capital letters and questions marks / full stops in the right places. Here are some letters 2BV wrote to Noah.

Too Many Elephants in this House

Today we loved reading this story! Here's a link so you can enjoy it at home.

Today was National Simultaneous Storytime. Everyone in Junior School was able to listen to the story Too Many Elephants in this House By Ursula Dubosarsky. We had a little treasure hunt to find all the elephants in the classroom... there were lots! Some students made little houses for their elephants. Here are some photos of the students enjoying making their elephant masks.

Which animal would you love to have filling your house?

Friday awards

Well done to our award recipients. Thank you for all your hard work in class.

Water..... We all need it!

Today in 2BV we began our PBL (project based learning) journey for the term. Our topic is Water Heroes.

We all need water! So how can we be heroes and use water wisely....?

This term students will be involved in all sorts of activities learning about, investigating and exploring ways we use water and how we can make positive choices in the environment that surrounds us and the way in which we use water.

Today we explore water using our five senses. What does it....

Feel like?
Smell like?
 Taste like?
 Look like?
 Sound like?

We investigated how salt changes water and found out that the only thing that changes in the taste!

This morning we talked about saying nice words instead of bad words. We read Ephesians 5:4 and it warns against talking mean or bad language. Dirty jokes and words may seem harmless but they're not. Imagine throwing a handful of mud into a jug of water. The mud would ruin the water immediately by contaminating it. Our minds can be contaminated by saying or hearing dirty talk. Instead God wants us to speak nicely to each other. We can pray and ask God to help us have self control when we are having trouble speaking nicely.

Would you drink this? Yuck!!!
